"Gluten Free" is not just a dietary choice, but for the thousands of individuals afflicted with Celiac Sprue, it is a necessary way of life.
Having grown up with my only sister being a Celiac, I have always wanted to share the knowledge my family gained with others. In the days before most doctors knew what Celiac Sprue was, much less how to diagnose it, people had few places to turn for information. During this time my mother spent years inventing and trading recipes and resources for Celiacs. I spent years in my early 20's bartending, and compiled a large drink collection. Desiring to share this information with others, I began by contacting liquor companies requesting information on what products are GF, and cross-referencing that information with my collection. Hours and hours of typing later, Mike's bar was born, followed shortly after by the baking section which includes: baking, desserts, dinner, appetizers, and other recipes. |

This site is dedicated to providing free information and resources for Celiacs. It IS possible to lead a normal, socially active lifestyle that includes cooking, dining out, and drinking without feeling excluded by not knowing what is safe to consume. We thank those that continue to contribute information and recipes to share with others through our site. |

We are working to contact alcohol and food companies to obtain safe-consumption information, and are continuing to add this information and the recipes they involve all the time.
The site was originally to be titled "Gluten Free Recipes" but after the domain rights were purchased by another company Gluten Free Drinks was born. Mike's bar remains the prominent feature of the site, but containing much more than just drinks.
This is a work in progress, and we are receiving responses from companies, and recipe additions all the time, so keep checking in with us and feel free to email suggestions. You can also discuss your experiences in our Forum located in the links page accessable at the top of this page.
